2nd
International Workshop on Reacting Particle-Gas Systems
June 16th-18th 2025
Magdeburg, Germany
After the success of the first International Workshop in June 2022 in Bochum (picture above),
the second International Workshop in this series of events will take place in June 2025 in Magdeburg (Germany)
and focus on the
Modelling and Experimental Characterization of Reactive Particle-Gas Systems.
It addresses researchers in industry, universities and research centres.
It is organized by the Collaborative Research Centre 287 BULK-REACTION.
The main topics of this workshop are:
Advancement in simulations of reactive particle-gas systems (especially based on DEM/CFD)
Single particle reaction models (detailed, reduced, pore network models…)
Gas flow and gas-phase reactions in particle-gas systems (DNS, LES, porous media models…)
Advanced measurement techniques in particle-gas systems (laser diagnostics, tomographic techniques, radar, PET, MRI…)
Reference experiments and benchmarks to validate corresponding simulations
Confirmed speakers for keynote lectures:
Tina Kasper
University of Paderborn, Germany
Tamás Turányi
Eötvös University, Budapest, Hungary
Berend van Wachem
Otto von Guericke University, Magdeburg, Germany
Aibing Yu
Monash University, Australia

It is our pleasure to invite you, your co-workers and students to present your research work there, either for a talk or a poster presentation.
The organizers do everything to limit the registration fees – less than 200 € for PhD candidates.
Selection will be based on an extended abstract (3 pages).
Corresponding templates and online submission procedure will be communicated in September 2024.
Selected contributions from the 1st Workshop have been published in a special issue of Particuology, and the same process is currently being organized.
